About Our Process

Overview | This training process is designed to activate a large range of specific emotional resources in each clinician that are not part of traditional education or clinical training. Each individual clinician participates in a series of exercises that facilitate the obligatory physiological activations of their inherent emotional resources.

The small-group process and repetition work together to strengthen different emotional resources in the present moment. Those resources generate energy, facilitate learning, and mobilize adaptive changes.  The training works directly with universal inherent emotional resources and thus it works equally well with different types of clinicians, with different levels of education and experience and different cultures.

Emotional collaboration between distinct emotional resources and the shared group process sustain the learning and provide effective outcomes.  The trainings have been shown to reduce clinician’s compassion fatigue, cynicism and grief. The enhanced capabilities impact every participant and consistently lead to beneficial outcomes as noted in the clinician feedback and testimonials.

What Does The Training Look Like?

Why is C.E.R.T. so Effective?

Why is C.E.R.T. so Efficent?

Why is C.E.R.T. so Powerful?

Why has C.E.R.T. sustained Long Lasting Benefits?

  • Clinician Emotional Resources Training activates all 21 underlying, radical emotional resources.
  • Trainings meet the full range of psychological needs of the clinicians.

  • Multiple evidence-based therapeutic processes are being utilized: Alliance, unconditional positive regard, goal consensus, positive regard, coherence.

  • The empirical observations provide the physiological evidence and scientific data that enables the process to be dynamically custom-made to this group at this moment in time.

  • Staying in the present moment facilitates maximal learning and makes sure that authentic experiences are taking  place.

  • The process trusts and utilizes the wisdom of the underlying emotional thermodynamics to facilitate adaptive developments and changes.

  • Exercises activate multiple neurotransmitters to sustain and retain the learning, i.e, oxytocin, endogenous opioids, dopamine, and serotonin.

  • Activations of multiple forms of neuroplasticity are being utilized:  emotional memory reconsolidation, neural synchrony, neuroplastic competition, and constraint induced neuroplasticity.

  • Desensitizing the participants to the profound nature of this intimate process.

  • Harnessing the energy of emotional learning potentials

  • Helping the clinicians to learn how to trust their intentions.

  • Explicit work in developing the clinician’s mirror neurons & learning how to read and trust the mirror neurons in others.

  • The careful use of images and illustrations of nonconscious emotions to activate the clinicians’ mirror neurons.

  • Explicitly welcoming with wisdom and energy of multiple perspectives and points of view.

  • Embodying the training process so everyone has a “felt-sense” of their emotional resources

  • Facilitating the development of internal complexity and group complexity.

  • Explicitly noticing and inviting physiological phenomena.

  • Supporting the participants’ discomfort within this level of intimacy with themselves and the group.

  • An explicit and complex approach to facilitating and exercising the conscious emotional brain systems namely, awareness, attention, authority, autonomy and agency, the “A-Team” .

  • Explicitly working with clinicians’ natural tendency to over-focus on their patients rather than keeping a complex balance of staying focused on themselves when they are focusing on their patients. During outcomes they describe their experience as learning that they can speak multiple emotional languages simultaneously.

  • Interrupting the clinician’s tendency to take their clients’ autonomy for granted.

  • Modeling, practicing, understanding and experiencing the open-body posture and intimate eye-gaze from multiple perspectives.

  • Utilizing the open-body posture to enable the clinicians to develop a complex emotional balance with multiple nonconscious emotional systems Strong emphasis on  the Belonging brain system.

  • Desensitizing clinicians to being vulnerable within themselves, welcoming their discomfort.

  • Learning to trust nonconscious emotional resources especially those based in the brainstem and the peripheral nervous system.

  • Learning to override the constraints of early life emotional development and previous psychological and psychotherapeutic training.

  • Inspiring the clinicians to keep practicing the exercises with themselves in the mirror, with friends or family members, with their therapists and with each other. Repetition is essential to develop nonconscious emotional resources and skills.

  • Letting go of the need to understand or make sense of the unfamiliarity of neurobiology.  “The human mind did not evolve to believe in neurobiology” E.O. Wilson

  • Multiple live demonstrations during each session to model the exercises, desensitize the clinicians to being vulnerable, and recognize the shared vulnerability and intimacy of everyone in the room.

  • Enhanced the group experiences to build on the natural synergy that occurs with complexity.

  • The training processes are directed at the clinician’s preverbal, “pre-transference” level of nonconscious emotional development. Clinician Emotional Resources Trainings, therefore do not need to address the clinicians’ transference and countertransference patterns. Those patterns were addressed implicitly and experientially.

  • The process repeatedly reveals that the trainers’ intimate care, connection and attention are unconditional.
